Shape Memory Effect in Polymer Compounds - Magnetizable Nanoparticles

Abstract

Compounds based on thermoplastic polyurethanes with good shape memory properties and magnetizable nanoparticles can be induced to return to an original shape by an alternating electromagnetic field. This opens up potential applications such as actuators in technical processes or suture material in the medical sector.
